S. Senate could hold the most profound potential in favor of thousands of Indian families residing in the U. S. Now, there is a new DREAM Act, This time aimed to open up a route for legal permanent residents to embrace the so-called \u201cDreamers\u201d-undocumented children brought to the U. S. by their parents-in another category, namely, \u201cDocumented Dreamers\u201d \u2014 the children of long-term visa holders<strong> (H-1B, L-1, E-1, E-2)<\/strong>, who lose their dependent visa status when they turn 21.<\/p><p>This revised bill hopes to bring cheer to the many Indian families fighting against the wind. Significantly, children often lose their opportunity to be marked against those of their <strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><a style=\"color: #ff0000;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.abhinav.com\/newsletter\/green-card-parents-must-prove-status-for-childs-ssn-under-birthright-rule\/\">parents&#8217; green cards<\/a><\/span><\/strong> once they &#8220;age out&#8221; into adulthood due to the decades-long green card backlogs (particularly under employment-based categories). S. law, and possibly permit them to travel outside of the U.S.<\/p><p>Applicants had to have come before age 18, resided in the U. S. for no less than four years, passed background and medical checks, filed their taxes, and, after fulfilling basically all educational\/military\/employment qualification requirements, they could move on to final green card status.<\/p><h3><strong>So, What Does It Mean for Indian Community Families?<\/strong><\/h3><p>For many immigrant families \u2014 especially those on H-1B or similar visas \u2014 this bill offers a much-needed sense of security and stability for their children. No longer would turning 21 mean abrupt visa loss or forced migration. It could allow children who have grown up in the U. S., gone to school there, and consider the U.
