With aging populations in developed countries and slow native workforce growth, external talent recruitment is taking more and more center stage. In contrast, India is youthful, educationally diverse, and digitally connected, positioning it hard to the center of global talent supply chains.\n\nBut it is not a given that India will succeed. Hence, from the analysis in the article, Indian institutions must start moving away from the traditional degree-based education model to one that imparts skills and is industry-oriented. This means more collaboration between academia and industry, revamping of curricula, greater hands-on training, certifications, and flexible lifelong learning models.
